Turkey's Best-Selling Cars in July 2026

July saw a sharp contraction in Turkey's auto market, driven by tighter auto-loan conditions and typical summer seasonality. According to ODMD (Association of Automotive Distributors and Mobility), Turkey's car and light commercial vehicle market fell to 80,786 units in July 2026, down 25% year-over-year. Car sales dropped 25.79% to 62,478 units, while the light commercial vehicle market fell 22.17% to 18,308 units. Even so, the Renault Boreal took the top spot in the model ranking, while the Togg T10X held onto its lead on the electric side and claimed second place overall.

It's notable that Renault places three different models (Boreal, Duster, Megane Sedan) in the top ten. Togg also has two models in the top seven at once with the T10X and T10F, once again underscoring the weight of domestic production in the market. Renault also leads the combined car-and-LCV brand ranking; having the Boreal, Duster, and Megane Sedan all in the top ten at once shows the brand's demand is spread across a wide lineup rather than resting on a single model. Volkswagen sits in second place on the strength of the Taigo and its light commercial vehicle contribution.

How Does the January-July 2026 Picture Look?

Looking at the first seven months of the year gives a clearer picture of the overall market:

• Total market (cars + LCVs): 638,965 units, down 10.72% year-over-year.
• Car sales: 502,712 units (down 12.14%).
• Light commercial vehicle sales: 136,253 units (down 5.05%).
• In the car market, the C segment (55.1% share, 276,976 units) and B segment (29% share, 145,788 units) together make up 84.4% of the market.
• By body type, SUVs lead by a wide margin with a 65.5% share (329,443 units), followed by sedans at 20.3% (102,253 units) and hatchbacks at 13.8% (69,137 units).
• By powertrain, petrol leads with a 41.4% share, followed by hybrids at 33%, electric at 18.7%, and diesel at 6.1%.
• The automatic-transmission share of the market climbed to 96.9%.

What Does This Tell Us?

• The market is shrinking, but SUV demand keeps growing: With the total market down more than 10%, SUVs climbing to a 65.5% body-type share shows consumers are steering even a tighter budget toward SUVs.
• Hybrids keep growing while electric growth slows: The hybrid share rose from 28% to 33% year-over-year, while the electric share only edged up from 18.1% to 18.7% — sales of electric models above 160 kW fell 57.8%.
• Togg remains the lasting leader on the electric side: The T10X and T10F sharing the top of the electric ranking both in July and year-to-date shows the growing strength of domestically produced models in the market.
• Renault stands out for its model diversity: Beyond leading the brand ranking, having the Boreal, Duster, and Megane Sedan all in the top ten at once points to demand spread across Renault's broad lineup rather than a single model.
